Glasses will come off and light will become brighter. These 5 yoga asanas are a boon for eyes, will also provide relief from digital fatigue. – ..
News India Live, Digital Desk: In today’s digital age, most of our time is spent in front of laptops, smartphones and TV screens. Due to watching screens for hours, it has become common to have eye irritation, dryness, blurred vision and wearing thick glasses at an early age. Eyedrops alone are not enough to overcome this weakness of the eyes. Some special exercises have been described in yoga science, which not only strengthen the eye muscles, but can also help in regaining the lost vision.
1. Tratak Kriya: Confluence of concentration and illumination
Tratak is considered to be the most effective yoga for the eyes. In this, focusing on a single point or the flame of a burning candle without blinking until tears come from the eyes. This action clears the nerves of the eyes and sharpens the vision. Regular Tratak not only helps in removing eye strain but also increases mental concentration.
2. Palming: Give instant relief to the eyes
If your eyes get tired in the middle of work, ‘palming’ is the easiest way. Rub both your palms together until they become warm, then close your eyes and place the palms over your eyes. The warmth of the palms relaxes the eye muscles and increases blood circulation. Doing this 3-4 times a day reduces eye strain immediately.
3. Eye Rotation Exercise (Eye Rolling)
Moving the pupils of the eyes in different directions is a great exercise. Move your eyes first up-down, then right-left and finally round (cockwise and anti-cockwise). This exercise improves the focusing ability of the eyes and activates the muscles that become sluggish due to constant looking at the screen.
4. Benefits of Sarvangasana and Shirshasana
According to yoga experts, when the blood flow in the body increases towards the head, it has a direct positive effect on eyesight. By doing Sarvangasana (standing on shoulders) and Shirshasana, the veins of the eyes get pure blood and oxygen. If you cannot do these difficult asanas, then ‘Padahastasana’ (bent forward and touch the feet) also proves to be very beneficial.
5. Anulom-Vilom Pranayam
The respiratory system and nervous system are directly related to our eyes. By doing Anulom-Vilom Pranayam, the amount of oxygen in the body increases and mental stress is reduced. By reducing stress, the pressure on the eyes (Intraocular Pressure) is reduced, due to which the risk of diseases like glaucoma is also avoided.
Special tips to improve eyesight
Along with yoga, it is very beneficial to wake up in the morning and fill your mouth with water and sprinkle cold water on your eyes. Also, include vitamin A rich foods like carrots, papaya and green leafy vegetables in your diet. Remember, staying away from mobile at least an hour before sleeping at night is the biggest medicine for your eyes.
