Jhunjhunu’s debutant batsman Mukul Chaudhary snatched the victory from the hosts.
In fact, 21-year-old rising batsman Mukul Chaudhary (54 not out, 27 balls, seven sixes, two fours) from Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan), playing only his third match in the IPL, snatched the match from KKR. Mukul not only scored his first half-century in three matches by hitting sixes at the time of need but also turned the tide of the match in the last four overs.

Home team reached 181 runs with quick partnerships of Rahane-Agnikrish and Green-Powell.
KKR, forced to bat first at Eden Gardens, made a partnership of 84 runs on 52 balls for the second wicket between Agnikrish Raghuvanshi (45 runs, 33 balls, two sixes, five fours) and captain Ajinkya Rahane (41 runs, 24 balls, two sixes, four fours), who started the innings. Then, with the unbroken partnership of 70 runs on 40 balls between Cameron Green (32 not out, 24 balls, one six, three fours) and Rovman Powell (39 not out, 24 balls, two sixes, four fours), the home team made a challenging score of 181 runs for four wickets.

After Badoni’s fifty, Mukul gave success to Lucknow.
In retaliation, despite the half-century of Ayush Badoni (54 runs, 34 balls, two sixes, seven fours), after seven wickets fell at 128 in 16 overs, ‘Player of the Match’ Mukul Choudhary became the trouble-shooter of the struggling Lucknow team, who single-handedly took the team to the finish line.

If we look at Lucknow’s innings, Mitchell Marsh (15 runs, 11 balls, one six, one four) and Aiden Markram (22 runs, 15 balls, one six, two fours) gave a good start to the team by adding 41 runs in 25 balls. Although Vaibhav Arora (2-38) returned both in the fifth over, captain Rishabh Pant (10 runs, nine balls, one four) and Nicholas Pooran (13 runs, 15 balls, one six) could not go far. At present, first Badoni took the responsibility and then Mukul became the hero of Lucknow’s thrilling victory. Apart from Arora, Anukul Roy also took two wickets.
