The minimum temperature dropped to around 17 degrees Celsius, one of the coldest mornings recorded in the month of April in the last several years. This unseasonal cold has given great relief to the people from the harshness of the initial summer. The mercury will rise with strong winds, the effect will be visible in the afternoon. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), even though the morning may have been cold, there will be a change in the weather patterns as the day progresses. The department has predicted that there will be strong surface winds during the day on Friday. The maximum temperature on Friday is likely to be around 33 degrees Celsius. This temperature is about 1 degree Celsius below the normal average for this time of the year. In such a situation, slight heat may be felt in the afternoon, but the weather will become pleasant again in the evening. Relief news: No danger of heat wave till April 16. The biggest relief for the people of Delhi is that at present there is no possibility of severe heat wave. IMD spokesperson Akhil Srivastava said that according to the extended forecast released by the department on April 2, there is no possibility of heat wave in Delhi till April 16, 2026. According to the monthly forecast for April, the number of heat wave days this month will remain normal. However, the department has warned that the number of heat wave days during April to June may be more than normal, the effect of which will start becoming visible from the second fortnight of the month. Condition of the next few days: Heat will increase gradually. According to the weather department, the heat will start gaining momentum in the coming days. The maximum temperature may go up to 35°C to 36°C with strong winds on 11 and 12 April. During this period the minimum temperature will also increase and it will remain between 19°C to 20°C. The humidity level will be around 60% in the morning which may reduce to 35% by evening. From April 13, the sky will be completely clear and the temperature will increase further. By April 15, the mercury can touch 38 degrees. From the beginning of next week, the heat will start showing its true colors. The temperature is expected to rise to 37°C on April 13 and 14, while by April 15 it may even touch the 38°C mark. During this period the minimum temperature is expected to be around 21°C to 22°C. Overall, the recent rains have definitely delayed the entry of the scorching heat, but now the temperature in the city will gradually increase. At present the Meteorological Department has not issued any kind of emergency warning.
