Actress Simran Ahuja expressed her support for women and their dreams. The Women’s Reservation Bill, which proposes 33 percent representation for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislatures, has been hailed by many celebrities as a major and transformative step towards gender equality in India’s legislative processes. Celebrities like Shweta Tripathi, Priya Malik, Rishita Bhatt, Deepika Chikhalia, Mukesh Rishi and Himani Shivpuri also gave their opinion on this and supported the bill. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed that reservation for women in legislative bodies is the need of the hour. He said that any delay in bringing this reservation would be extremely unfortunate. This will make our democracy even more vibrant and participatory. The comments come as the Union Cabinet on Thursday approved a draft amendment bill to the Women’s Reservation Act, which will ensure its implementation in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. This amendment bill guarantees 33 percent reservation for women in legislative bodies.
