New Delhi. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took oath as Rajya Sabha MP today. Nitish Kumar will soon resign from the post of Bihar CM after which Bihar will get a new Chief Minister. After taking oath, when journalists asked Nitish Kumar outside the Parliament House that his wish of going to Rajya Sabha has been fulfilled, what is his future plan, Nitish only said that earlier we were not here. On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi heartily congratulated Nitish Kumar on taking oath as Rajya Sabha MP and wished him all the best for his future tenure.

PM Modi posted on X, Nitish Kumar ji is one of the most experienced leaders of the country. His commitment to good governance has been appreciated everywhere. He has made an indelible contribution to the development of Bihar. It would be great to see him in Parliament once again. He has also served as MP and Union Minister for many years. I am confident that his long political experience will further enhance the dignity of Parliament. Earlier, after reaching Delhi on Thursday, Nitish Kumar had said that now he will stay here. On the other hand, after the oath taking of Nitish Kumar, the discussion regarding the name of the new CM of Bihar has intensified. However, both BJP and JDU parties have not opened their cards regarding the name of the Chief Minister.

The name of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary is at the forefront in the race for the post of CM. A few days ago, during ‘Samriddhi Yatra’ in Jamui, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar placed his hand on the shoulder of Samrat Choudhary, who was present with him on the stage, and first got the public to raise their hands in his support and then said that now he will do the same thing. After this, speculations started rising that Samrat Chaudhary is Nitish Kumar’s first choice for the post of CM.
