Is the atmosphere worsening before peace talks? Pakistan media made big allegations against Israel

Amidst the ongoing tension in the Middle East, now Pakistan’s media also seems to be openly active on this issue. Before the possible talks regarding Iran and ceasefire, the stance of major newspapers and channels of Pakistan is clearly visible against Israel. Due to this, the question has started to arise whether this is just the opinion of the media or there is some big diplomatic thinking also working behind it.

Pakistan’s leading newspaper Dawn, in its editorial, has directly accused Israel of trying to weaken the peace talks with Iran. According to the newspaper, Israel is angry that its and America’s joint strategy against Iran was not successful.

The editorial also said that Israel is being criticized within its policies because it could not achieve its military goals. After this, now he is venting his anger through attacks in Lebanon, where civilians are being harmed in the name of targeting Hezbollah.

Mention of ‘right principle’

Don also mentioned the ‘Dahiye Doctrine’ in his article, under which a strategy of completely destroying an area is adopted. The newspaper claims that under this policy, common people in Lebanon were targeted, which is against international law. It was also said that such action is not new for Israel, rather it has been adopting such strategy for a long time.

Comment on America and Trump also

The newspaper also alleged that Israel inspired Donald Trump to take a tough stance against Iran by giving him false information. The article says that now Israel is trying to ensure that no new peace process is successful and tensions in the region increase again. In the editorial, Trump was questioned whether he would actually follow the policy of ‘America First’ or take decisions under the influence of Israel, even if this increases instability in the entire region.

Pakistan Today’s concern

Pakistan Today, another leading newspaper, in its editorial also termed Israel’s ongoing attacks on Lebanon as worrying. According to the newspaper, this attack is not the result of any misunderstanding, because at the time of the ceasefire announcement it was made clear that Lebanon is also included in it.

The report also expressed apprehension that Israel may try to strengthen its hold in this area and change the border. The newspaper believes that Pakistan, as a potential mediator, should monitor the situation and make efforts to maintain peace.

Geo News and Iran’s stance

Geo News prominently featured the statement of Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei. He said that Iran does not want war, but if it is attacked then it will not spare those responsible. The Nation quoted a report as saying that if Israel continues to violate the ceasefire in Lebanon, Iran may withdraw from the agreement. Iran’s army, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has also taken a tough stance and said that Israel will be held accountable for the attacks in Lebanon and ceasefire violations. This statement has further increased tension in the area.

PAK Defense Minister’s post

Just before the peace talks, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif used very strong words against Israel on social media platform X. He addressed Israel with words like “threat to humanity” and “cancer” and described the attacks in Lebanon as genocide. He also said that civilians are being killed in Gaza, Iran and now Lebanon, while peace talks are going on in Islamabad. However, after Israel’s sharp reaction to this statement, he removed his post.
