Sadiq killed Hindu wife and threw her body near the temple; face burnt to hide identity
A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Akola district of Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, where a man named Sadiq killed his Hindu wife Raveena, threw her body near a temple and burnt her face to hide her identity. According to the police, the accused Sadiq Shah Tashrif Shah has been arrested on April 8. The deceased has been identified as Raveena Pawar, who had recently become a mother.
On April 6, police received information that a partially burnt body of a woman was found near Annapurna Mata Temple. The body was sent for postmortem and initial investigation could not identify it. Later during investigation it was confirmed that the deceased was Raveena Pawar.
Police investigation revealed that after the murder, the accused threw the body near the temple and then poured petrol on it and burnt the face so that it could not be identified. Investigation revealed that Sadiq and Raveena had a ‘love marriage’ and both worked in Mumbai. They had come to Akola for the birth of the child and were living in a rented house. It was told that just 8 days after the birth of the child, the accused strangled Raveena to death.
According to the police, there were frequent fights between the two and there was a domestic dispute going on. Due to this the accused committed this crime. During the investigation of the case, the police scrutinized the CCTV footage and formed several teams and started searching for the accused. Ultimately he was arrested from his sister’s house in Barshi Takli.
After this incident, the newborn child has been handed over to the Child Welfare Department. The accused was produced in the court on April 8, from where he was sent to police custody for further action. Police say that the investigation of the case is going on and all the aspects behind the murder are being investigated.
