Steamer Capsizes In Yamuna In Vrindavan: Major accident in Vrindavan, steamer capsized in Yamuna, 10 people died, many missing, CM Yogi took cognizance


New Delhi. A major accident has occurred when a steamer capsized near Keshi Ghat in Yamuna river in Vrindavan, Mathura. So far 10 people have died due to drowning in this accident while many people are still missing and are being searched. It is being told that there were about 30 to 32 people aboard the steamer who had come from Ludhiana, Punjab to visit Banke Bihari. Out of which 15 people have been rescued safely and have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. At present, relief and rescue work is going on. People are being searched in the water with the help of divers.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of this accident. Yogi said, the loss of lives in the accident due to overturning of steamer in Mathura district is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved families. The concerned officials have been instructed to immediately reach the spot and conduct rescue and relief work and provide proper treatment to the injured. It is a prayer to Lord Shri Ram to grant salvation to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this immense sorrow and speedy recovery to the injured.

It is being told that after the darshan, all the devotees boarded a steamer and went for a walk in the Yamuna river. Due to strong wind, the steamer went out of control and collided with the Pipa bridge on the Yamuna river and after that the steamer overturned. As soon as the boat overturned there was an outcry. Police and administration officials are currently monitoring the situation. A huge crowd has gathered at the ghat. Police force has also been deployed in view of the crowd of people.
