Lucknow, 10 April. The process of Special Intensive Review (SIR) 2026 has been successfully completed in Uttar Pradesh. During this massive campaign, names of more than 2 crore voters in the state have been deleted from the list. Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said that the final voter list has been published on April 10, 2026. This process was conducted simultaneously in the entire country.
He said that the counting phase in the state ran from November 4, 2025 to December 26, 2025, while the time given for claims and objections was from January 6 to March 6, 2026. After this, all the claims and objections were resolved by 27 March. Rinwa said that any voter can check his/her name on the Election Commission’s website. Those whose names are not in the list can re-register by filling Form-6. He assured that no one needs to worry.
He said that this campaign received wide support from representatives of all political parties, booth level agents and the general public. Besides, print, electronic and digital media also played an important role in spreading awareness. He said that in making this 166-day long campaign successful, District Election Officers, 403 Electoral Registration Officers, 12,758 Assistant Officers, 18,026 BLO Supervisors and 1,77,516 BLOs of all 75 districts of the state took active participation. Apart from this, 5,82,877 booth level agents also cooperated. Rinwa said that according to the final voter list, the total voters are 13,39,84,792 in which male voters are 7,30,71,061 (54.54%) and female voters: 6,09,09,525 (45.46%).
He said a total of 12,55,56,025 voters were included in the draft list published on January 6, 2026, which included 6,88,43,159 males (54.83%), 5,67,08,747 females (45.17%) and 4,119 third gender voters. The number of voters in the 18-19 age group stood at 3,33,981, while the gender ratio was recorded at 824. Prayagraj, Lucknow, Bareilly, Ghaziabad and Jaunpur districts remained ahead in terms of voter increase. The highest increase in the number of voters was recorded in Sahibabad, Jaunpur, Lucknow West and Firozabad assembly constituencies.
