‘Aquarius Girl’ Monalisa turned out to be a minor? FIR registered against husband Farman under POCSO

The troubles of ‘Aquarius Girl’ Monalisa and her husband Farman Khan, who made headlines for their love story on social media, have now increased. The latest investigation report of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) has claimed that Monalisa was not an adult at the time of marriage, but was only 16 years old. After this revelation, an FIR has been registered against Monalisa’s husband Farman Khan under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act at Maheshwar police station in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh. This action of the administration has put into the dock the claims of the viral couple in which they had said that Monalisa was an adult.

According to media reports, NCST investigated the documents related to Monalisa’s birth to get to the root of the matter. The commission examined the birth records of the government hospital in Maheshwar, in which it is recorded that Monalisa was born on 30 December 2009. Based on this official document, her actual age at the time of her marriage which took place in Kerala on 11th March 2026 was only 16 years and a few months. The Commission also made it clear that Monalisa belongs to the Pardi tribe.

Marriage took place on the basis of age recorded in Aadhar card

Investigation also revealed that this marriage was solemnized at Arumanoor temple located in Poovar near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The temple administration and the local gram panchayat office, where the marriage was registered, said they had given permission for marriages only on the basis of the age recorded in the Aadhaar cards provided by the couples. However, now after the birth certificate of the hospital has come to light, the possibility of manipulation of authenticity and age of Aadhaar card has increased the legal complications.
