Rajasthan Royals have registered their highest-ever powerplay total, smashing 97 runs in the IPL 2026 game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 9, Friday at the Baraspara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The Royals have bettered that comfortably from the 2025 edition, scoring nine more runs.
Rajasthan Royals’ 5 highest powerplay totals in IPL history
5) 81 against the Chennai Super Kings
Rajasthan Royals’ total of 81 runs in six runs against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) came in IPL 2021 partly hosted by the UAE. The game in context took place in Abu Dhabi when the Royals smacked 81 in six overs while chasing down 190. Accompanied by half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal (50) and Shivam Dube (64*), the Royals hunted the total down with 15 balls to spare.
4) 85 against the SunRisers Hyderabad
Rajasthan Royals hammered 85 off the first six overs of the innings against the SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler exploded with an 85-run stand only in 5.5 overs to set the stage for a total of 203/5 in 20 overs. In response, the SunRisers started badly from the outset and managed only 131 runs to lose by 72 runs.
3) 87 against the Gujarat Titans
Rajasthan Royals went on to blast 87 in six overs against the Gujarat Titans at the iconic venue of the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur in IPL 2025. It was the announcement of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who opened the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal to stitch a 166-run stand to make the target of 210 look extremely modest. Sooryavanshi blasted a 35-ball 100 as the Titans needed only 15.5 overs to chase down the target.
2) 89 against the Punjab Kings
Until now, the Rajasthan Royals’ highest powerplay total was 89 against the Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 at the the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. After Nehal Wadhera top-scored with 70 to set the Royals 220, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi rocketed off from the outset as the first six overs produced 89 runs. But the Royals still lost by 10 runs in the end.
1) 97 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was once again at the centre as the Rajasthan Royals began their chase of 202 in Guwahati against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) quite positively. After Yashasvi Jasiwal’s departure, the southpaw became even more lethal, belting his second 15-ball fifty of the tournament. Krunal Pandya eventually dismissed him for 78 but he put the Royals firmly in command.
