Now he will take over the role of coach of the Indian junior women’s hockey team. Their main goal is to groom the next generation of international stars. Before coming to India, White was the coach of the Belgium Under-21 women’s team, and played a key role in leading the team to a bronze medal at the 2025 Junior World Cup in December. During this time, the team has seen a dramatic improvement in its world ranking, from 12th to third, and notably reached the semi-finals of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Commenting on his appointment, Tim White said, “Having recently spent time in India as coach of the Tamil Nadu Dragons, I was once again drawn to the country’s tremendous passion and rich hockey culture. I have seen the young talent here up close while coaching against India at the Junior World Cup, and I am privileged to have the opportunity to work in a full-time program with such passionate players. My aim is to develop technically proficient players who can make the transition to the junior and senior teams. Be fully prepared to bridge the gap and make your place in the senior team.”

Dr. Dilip Tirkey, President, Hockey India, welcoming the appointment, said, “We are very pleased to have Tim White on board. Her impressive track record in junior programs in Belgium and Australia speaks for itself, particularly her success in leading teams to podium finishes at the Junior World Cup. We are confident that her vast experience in high-performance coaching and athlete development will play a vital role in preparing our junior women’s team for the challenges of senior international hockey.”

Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh said, “Tim’s appointment is in line with our aim to provide world-class coaching to our junior teams. The transition from junior to senior hockey is an important one, and we are confident that under Tim’s guidance, our young athletes will gain the technical and tactical maturity they need to perform at the highest level.”
