Delhi EV Draft Policy: Delhi’s Rekha Gupta government released EV Draft Policy, know what benefits you will get on purchasing the vehicle?
New Delhi. Rekha Gupta government of Delhi has released a new draft EV policy. Suggestions have been sought from the public on this within 30 days. The new EV policy states that there will be a benefit of up to Rs 1.5 lakh on purchasing an electric vehicle in Delhi. In which road tax and registration fees will be completely waived. Apart from this, Delhi government has also proposed huge subsidy on electric vehicles. If this EV policy is implemented, Delhi can get freedom from pollution caused by vehicles.

Under Delhi’s new EV draft policy, those who buy vehicles in the first year will benefit more. It is proposed in the EV policy that a maximum subsidy of Rs 30,000 will be given in the first year on the purchase of EV two-wheeler up to Rs 2.25 lakh. This subsidy will be Rs 20,000 in the second year and Rs 10,000 in the third year. You will get a subsidy of Rs 50,000 on purchasing an electric three wheeler. This subsidy will be Rs 40,000 in the second year and Rs 30,000 in the third year. There is a proposal to give subsidy of Rs 1 lakh in the first year, Rs 75000 in the second year and Rs 50000 in the third year on small commercial trucks with batteries.

Delhi’s EV draft policy also talks about giving an incentive of up to Rs 1 lakh on scrapping old petrol or diesel vehicles. It has been said in the draft policy of EV that the subsidy amount will be sent to the bank accounts of the vehicle buyers. Apart from this, it also talks about creating a network for charging electric vehicles in Delhi and making charging points at all the dealers. Delhi’s new EV policy is said to be inspired by Article 21 of the Constitution. This article of the Constitution gives the right to life to every citizen. There is tremendous pollution in Delhi. In which a large part of the pollution caused by vehicles occurs. After forming the government in Delhi, BJP has taken many steps to reduce pollution.
