‘If the matter is resolved then it will be fine, otherwise the consequences will be bad’: Trump’s blunt warning to Iran before peace talks, Tehran also showed tough attitude

Islamabad: The world is currently sitting on a heap of gunpowder and all eyes are fixed on Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. Historic peace talks are going to take place between America and Iran on Saturday (April 11, 2026), but just before this grand meeting, the atmosphere has become very tense. US President Donald Trump has termed these talks as the ‘last chance’ for Iran and has given such a warning that the sounds of war have intensified. Trump has said in a clear tone that Iran should immediately open the ‘Strait of Hormuz’, otherwise it will have to face consequences which it could never have imagined.

Trump’s ‘final warning’ and Iran’s preparation for counterattack

President Trump has made it clear through social media and interviews that Iran is on its knees militarily. He said, “The Iranians are just trying to blackmail the world by blocking sea routes. We will not let them collect any ‘toll tax’ in Hormuz.” Trump also revealed that American warships have been equipped with new and extremely lethal weapons. If Saturday’s talks remain inconclusive, America will not step back from direct military action. Trump sarcastically said that the previous governments were only talking for 47 years, but now the decision will be taken immediately.

Iranian delegation reached Islamabad with conditions

On the other hand, Iran also does not seem ready to bow down. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has landed in Islamabad on Friday with a large delegation. Iran has put its conditions on the table—their first demands are an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of billions of dollars of funds frozen by the US. Ghalibaf said in strong words that he does not have even an iota of trust in America and the talks will move forward only if his conditions are accepted. This team also includes many top military officers including Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and the Governor of the Central Bank.

‘Do or die’ time for Shahbaz Sharif

This is no less than a litmus test for Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who is hosting this entire dialogue. He has described this meeting as a ‘make-or-break’ situation. Pakistan fears that if this conversation fails, a fierce war may break out in the Middle East which will impact the entire world. In this meeting, along with PM Shahbaz, Army Chief General Asim Munir and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will also be present from Pakistan’s side, who will try to mediate between the two countries.

Who is at the negotiating table?

Vice President JD Vance himself is commanding this high-profile talks from the US side. He is accompanied by Donald Trump’s son-in-law and trusted advisor Jared Kushner and veteran military strategist Vice Admiral Brad Cooper. America’s main objective is clear – to stop Iran from making nuclear weapons and to free international sea lanes from Iran’s occupation. Now the whole world is holding its breath whether this table talk on Saturday will lead to peace or the sound of missiles will be heard.
