Rohit Sharma 15 Years In Mumbai Indians: Five-time champions Mumbai Indians are trying to end their title drought in the IPL, meanwhile the franchise recently celebrated a special occasion. Their record-winning captain, Rohit Sharma has completed 15 years with the team. The Mumbai batsman made his debut with MI on April 10, 2011 and now celebrates his 15th year with the franchise. While he continues to carry forward his legacy in the blue and gold, he has received a lot of praise for his illustrious career.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians’ current captain and all-rounder Hardik Pandya also paid special respect to his teammate and remembered his journey in the last few years. In a video uploaded on MI’s social media handle, Hardik said, ‘Brother, congratulations on completing 15 years. Thank you for the way you have captained this franchise for so long. I made my debut in your Leader only, and so did Boom (Jasprit Bumrah) and many other players.
Pandya further said, ‘Thank you for inspiring all those players who have contributed to both this franchise and India. You have been amazing not only as a leader but also as a human being, always friendly, open-minded and always leading from the front. Many congratulations, and thank you for everything you have done in the last few years.

15 years journey
38-year-old Rohit Sharma is one of the two captains who have won five IPL titles for their franchise. He started his IPL career in 2008 with Deccan Chargers. But this veteran player was signed by MI in 2011 and he started his journey with MI under the captaincy of Sachin Tendulkar. Till now, Rohit has played 230 IPL matches for this franchise, in which he has scored 5994 runs with the help of two centuries.
However, his biggest contribution has been in his captaincy, as he helped Mumbai Indians win five titles (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020). He was also a part of the MI team that won the Champions League in 2011 and 2013. If Rohit is successful in winning the IPL this season, he will become the most successful player in the history of this tournament. In IPL 2026, 38-year-old Rohit has scored a total of 118 runs in three innings at an average of 39.33 and a strike rate of over 150 (168.57), and he already has a score of 50+ to his name.
