Bureau Prayagraj. The joint police team of Narcotics Task Force Commissionerate Prayagraj and Police Station Dhumanganj has taken major action against narcotics and arrested three accused. Police have recovered 704.88 grams of smack (heroin) from their possession, whose estimated value in the international market is said to be around Rs 1 crore 40 lakh 97 thousand 600. Apart from this, three mobile phones and Rs 1200 cash have also been recovered.
This action was taken on 10 April 2026 with the help of Surveillance Cell Nagar. On the information of the informer, the police team raided the street behind Subedarganj station, Workshop Road in the police station Dhumanganj area and arrested the three accused.
The arrested accused include: Sachin Pasi (27 years), Rahul Kumar (22 years) and Nitesh Kumar (32 years), all residents of Dhumanganj police station area. According to the police, 559.85 grams of smack, a mobile phone and Rs 550 in cash were found from Sachin Pasi. 88.29 grams of smack, a mobile phone and Rs 300 in cash were recovered from Rahul Kumar. Whereas 56.74 grams of smack, a mobile phone and Rs 350 in cash were recovered from Nitesh Kumar. In this regard, a case has been registered under Section 8/21 NDPS Act under FIR No. 114/2026 in Police Station Dhumanganj and further legal action is being taken.
Police team received awards: On this remarkable success, Police Commissioner Commissionerate Prayagraj has announced a reward of Rs 50 thousand to the joint team.
