Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma interacted with mother power in ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ programme, gave special emphasis on empowerment of women.
A special dialogue session was organized with the mother power of the state in the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ program organized today at the Chief Minister’s residence in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. During the program, the Chief Minister said that ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Act’ is an important and historic step in the history of Indian democracy. This Act will promote participation of women in politics as well as provide them an opportunity to play an active role in the decision making process. He described it as a milestone towards women’s rights and respect.
In his address, the Chief Minister also said that under the leadership of the Central Government, effective efforts are being made continuously for the upliftment of women. He especially the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Referring to the guidance of A.S., he said that under his leadership, women empowerment in the country has got a new direction. The state government is also working with the same thinking and determination to advance the women of the state.
Explaining the concept of ‘double engine government’, he said that the central and state governments are jointly running many schemes for the development of women. Prominent among these are schemes like ‘Lakhpati Didi’ and ‘NaMo Drone Didi’, whose objective is to make women financially self-reliant and connect them with modern technology. Through these schemes, women are getting new employment opportunities and they are creating a strong identity in the society.
The women present during the program also shared their experiences and explained the impact of the schemes run by the government. Many women said that government schemes have given them the opportunity to become self-reliant and they are now contributing to their families as well as to the society. This dialogue made the program more lively and inspiring.
Assuring the mother power, the Chief Minister said that the state government is fully committed to the all-round development of women. He said that concrete steps are being taken for continuous improvement in the fields of women’s education, health, safety and employment. Also, the government is ensuring that every woman gets equal opportunities and respect.
He also said that empowerment of women is not just a social need but the cornerstone of nation building. Only when women are empowered, overall development of society and country will be possible. With this thinking in mind, the government will bring new schemes and initiatives in future too.
