Pakistan trembled with ‘Operation Sindoor’! Islamabad fell at the feet of the dragon due to fear of India, now will China save lives?

New Delhi: The fear of the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ which broke the back of Pakistan’s defense system and infrastructure last year, is still clearly visible on the face of Islamabad. To compensate for the loss caused by that severe attack by India, Pakistan has now completely taken refuge in China. To regain its lost credibility in the sky and to avoid the power of Indian Air Force, Pakistan is now trying to buy the state-of-the-art ‘Shaanxi KJ-500’ Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) from China.

When Pakistan’s air defense was destroyed overnight

This entire incident started with the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir in April last year. India gave a befitting reply to this by carrying out ‘Operation Sindoor’ on nine terrorist hideouts of Pakistan on the night of 7 May 2025. This surgical strike did not even give Pakistan a chance to recover.

In August 2025, Indian Air Force Chief Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh had revealed that six Pakistani aircraft were shot down in this action. These included five dangerous fighter aircraft and one ‘Saab Ari-2000’ AWACS aircraft. According to reports, Indian missile attacks on Bholari airbase had reduced another Pakistani AWACS aircraft to scrap. This attack completely paralyzed four radar systems and two command centers of Pakistan, the truth of which Pakistan is still hiding from the world.

Islamabad in the shelter of dragon after destruction

Seeing the complete collapse of its air defense system, Pakistan started knocking on China’s door in June 2025 itself. According to strategic experts, this deal is part of a very expensive defense package being given by China to Pakistan. The deal includes not only Shanxi KJ-500 aircraft, but also advanced air defense systems like J-35A fighter aircraft and HQ-19. Pakistan’s effort is to adapt its Air Force to ‘Network-Centric Warfare’ capability, so that its radar and defense systems can work together and counter India.

Shanxi KJ-500: Pakistan’s new ‘eye’ in the sky

Technically speaking, Shanxi KJ-500 is a very powerful radar system flying in the sky. It is adept at detecting and tracking the exact location of enemy fighter planes, missiles and drones from long distances. Pakistan hopes that with the inclusion of this aircraft in its fleet, it will get much earlier warning of any Indian air attack. However, defense experts believe that these Chinese toys will not last long against India’s BrahMos and other state-of-the-art missile systems.
