Tata Motors has handed over the first batch of Prima E.55S electric prime movers to BillionE Mobility, taking another big step into the field of electric commercial vehicles. Along with this delivery, the company has also announced a large order for 250 more electric prime movers. This has made it clear that the country is rapidly moving towards zero-emission freight.

This delivery was done in a program organized in Mumbai. Tata Motors Managing Director and CEO Girish Wagh, Billionaire Mobility and ChargeZone Founder Kartikey Hariyani, and Tata Motors Vice President Rajesh Kaul were present on the occasion.

These electric trucks will be used for long-distance transportation of steel, cement and other industrial goods in important freight corridors like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi-NCR and Haryana.

Billionaire Mobility CEO Sanjeev Kulkarni said the company plans to deploy around 1,500 electric trucks in the next six to 18 months. He mentioned that the Tata Prima E.55S truck is efficient, reliable and capable of large-scale operation.

The Tata Prima E.55S truck is equipped with a large battery pack of 450 kWh capacity, giving a range of around 350 km on a single charge. It has advanced technology features like advanced battery management system, dual-gun fast charging, 3-speed automatic transmission and regenerative braking.

Safety features include driver monitoring system, lane departure warning, tire pressure monitoring system, cruise control and electronic braking system.

Tata Motors is developing vehicles based on alternative fuel technologies like electric, CNG, LNG and hydrogen, and the company has the largest portfolio of alternative fuel vehicles in the country.
