This Guinness World Record Was Registered In The Name Of Asha Bhosle

Hindi cinema’s veteran playback singer Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92. He breathed his last at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. The news of his demise has created a wave of mourning not only among his fans but also among the artists of the film and music world.

Asha Bhosle was one of the few voices of Indian music who enthralled the listeners with her versatility for decades. He achieved a unique feat by singing about 12,000 songs in more than 20 languages, due to which his name was also recorded in the Guinness World Records.

Asha Bhosle, born on 8 September 1933 in Maharashtra, belonged to Mangeshkar music. His father Dinanath Mangeshkar was a renowned singer himself, while his elder sister Lata Mangeshkar had the status of a queen in Indian playback music. He got musical environment since childhood and he started singing at an early age.

She faced many challenges in the early days of her career and lived in the shadow of Lata Mangeshkar for a long time. However, he continued to strive to create his own identity and mastered various musical styles.

Asha Bhosle made her mark in Ghazal, Kabbali, romantic songs, western and traditional Hindi film songs. His famous songs include many songs like “In Aankhon Ki Masti Ke Mastane Hazaaron Hain”, “Piya Tu Ab To Aaja”, “Dum Maaro Dum”, “Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko”, “Jhumka Gira Re”, “Yeh Mera Dil”, “Radha Kaise Na Jale”, “Dil Cheez Kya Hai”, “Aa Jaa Aa Jaa Main Hoon Pyaar Tera” and “Raat Akeli Hai”.

He also spread the magic of his voice in many languages ​​including Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Urdu and Gujarati. His multilingual ability makes him different from other singers.

Talking about awards, Asha Bhosle was honored with the Filmfare Award seven times and was nominated for it 18 times. In the year 2001, he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. Apart from this, he was also awarded the highest honors like Padma Vibhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award by the Government of India.

Asha Bhosle’s demise is an irreparable loss for the Indian music world. His voice and his songs will always remain a source of inspiration for generations to come.
