PM Modi Condoles Asha Bhosles Death Says Her Songs Will Resonate Forever

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep condolences on the demise of great Indian music singer Asha Bhosle. He breathed his last at the age of 92 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. There is a wave of mourning across the country due to his demise and music lovers and film personalities are paying tribute to him.

In his message, the Prime Minister recalled the versatile talent of Asha Bhosle and her long musical journey, saying that her voice has touched millions of hearts across the world and her contribution has been enriching the Indian cultural heritage.

Asha Bhosle, born on September 8, 1933, sang around 12,000 songs in her career spanning over seven decades. Apart from Hindi, he spread the magic of his voice in more than 20 languages ​​including Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Urdu and Gujarati. For this achievement, his name was also recorded in the Guinness World Records.

Asha Bhosle was the daughter of Swarsamrat Dinanath Mangeshkar and younger sister of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. He worked hard to create his own identity and mastered every genre from ghazals, cabaret, romantic songs to classical music.

His famous songs include many immortal songs like “In Aankhon Ki Masti Ke Mastane Hazaaron Hain”, “Piya Tu Ab To Aaja”, “Dum Maaro Dum”, “Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko”, “Jhumka Gira Re” and “Radha Kaise Na Jale”.
