In a tribute shared on X, the Prime Minister described her as one of the most iconic and versatile voices India has ever known.

Praising her remarkable journey, PM Modi said her music enriched India’s cultural heritage and touched countless hearts across the world.

He added that whether through soulful melodies or energetic compositions, her voice carried timeless brilliance.

The Prime Minister also said he would always cherish the interactions he had with the veteran singer.

Condolences to family and admirers

Offering sympathies, PM Modi conveyed condolences to her family, admirers and millions of music lovers.

He said Asha Bhosle would continue to inspire generations and that her songs would forever echo in people’s lives.

Nation mourns a musical giant

Asha Bhosle passed away after being admitted to Breach Candy Hospital.

Doctors stated that she had been suffering from multiple medical complications and died due to multi-organ failure.

Her son Anand Bhosle confirmed that members of the public can pay their last respects at her residence in Lower Parel.

Her final rites are scheduled to take place at Shivaji Park.
