Iran’s big statement: “We declared ‘zero trust’ even before reaching Islamabad, we will see what happens next.”
Desk. Following the failure of Iran-US peace talks, Tehran issued a sharp statement. The Iranian embassy in Zimbabwe stated, “Even before arriving in Islamabad, we had already stated ‘zero trust’. We will see what happens next.” Clearly, Iran is not ready to surrender to the US. Iran has also refused to back down from its nuclear programs.
The US insisted that Iran completely abandon its nuclear program and ensure safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. However, Iran maintained that the Strait of Hormuz could only be opened if it was allowed to continue its nuclear program, the US released its seized assets, and Israel ceased its attacks on Lebanon. However, the US dismissed these Iranian conditions as illegitimate, and the talks failed.
Even before the peace talks with the US began in Islamabad, Iran stated that it was entering the ceasefire negotiations with profound distrust, as Washington was untrustworthy. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that the US had broken trust many times before and that it never adhered to any agreement. Araghchi stated that the US always employs diplomacy and strategy in negotiations and then breaks agreements itself. Therefore, it cannot be trusted. Now, the Iranian embassy has written in a post, “Before coming to Islamabad, we made it clear: ‘Absolutely no trust.’ We are prepared for any challenge that lies ahead!”
