From drone attack to hostage rescue, the real strength of the Indian Army will be seen in ‘Dustlik’
India Uzbekistan Joint Military Exercise: The armies of India and Uzbekistan have started joint exercise ‘Dustlik’. Here military operations will be conducted to respond to terrorist actions, raid, search and destroy terrorist hideouts. This also includes heavy fire exercises including air force exercises to deal with terrorists. This year the exercise is being conducted in Uzbekistan.
In fact, the joint military exercise Dustlik 2026 between India and Uzbekistan is an important initiative towards strengthening the defense relations between the two countries. The exercise has been started from April 12 and is being conducted till April 25 at the Field Training Area located in Namangan region of Uzbekistan. This is the seventh edition of this series, which reflects the growing strategic cooperation between the two countries.
Uzbekistan will participate in military exercises
Soldiers of the Indian Army and Uzbekistan Army are participating in this joint military exercise. The armies of both the countries will jointly practice special operations, the main objective of which is to take effective action against terrorism and illegal armed groups. During this, the soldiers will be given training according to the real conditions, so that they can take quick and accurate decisions in any challenging situation.
The main focus of the exercise is to develop joint planning and operational capabilities. In this, soldiers will be trained in complex tasks like search operation, siege, raid, and safe evacuation of hostages. Along with this, the use of modern technologies like drones and surveillance systems will also be taught, so that accurate information can be obtained during the war.
Exchange of experiences and strategies
During Dustlick 2026, the armies of both the countries will exchange their experiences and strategies. This will not only improve their combat efficiency but will also strengthen mutual understanding and coordination. This exercise also plays an important role in enhancing the sense of trust and cooperation between the soldiers of both the countries. This exercise further strengthens the defense partnership between India and Uzbekistan. At the same time, it is an important means of promoting regional security and strengthening joint efforts against terrorism.
Seventh edition of joint military exercise
The sixth edition of the joint military exercise ‘Dustlik’ between India and Uzbekistan was held in India (Pune) last year. Modern weapons and equipment were used in that exercise. Drones were deployed especially in the exercise. Measures to deal with unmanned aircraft were also part of the exercise. The Air Force had participated in the exercise to provide logistics support to maintain active forces in disturbed areas. Additionally, use of helicopters was also part of this joint exercise. Helicopters were used for reconnaissance and surveillance.

Defense cooperation will increase between the two countries
Helicopters were also used for Special Heliborne Operations (SHBO), entry and exit (STIE) of small military teams in terrorist hideouts. Let us tell you that India and Uzbekistan organize joint exercise Dustlik annual training program on rotation basis. This year’s exercise will help in developing interoperability and camaraderie between the two armies. The joint exercise will also boost defense cooperation between the two countries and will further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
