Crowns of 7 idols of Siddhivinayak temple stolen

Kanpur. On 11.04.2026, thieves took away the crowns from seven idols from the Siddhi Vinayak Temple located in Sutarkhana. When the temple management informed the police about this, the police started investigation. Assistant Police Commissioner Kotwali Ashutosh Kumar Singh said that information about theft has been received in the temple. On receiving the information, local police and surveillance team immediately reached the spot and conducted investigation.

As per the CCTV footage, a suspicious person was seen entering the temple at around 09:45 am and leaving at 09:56 am, by whom a total of 07 idols’ crowns were stolen, the estimated weight of which is around 600 grams. On the basis of the complaint filed by the temple management, a case has been registered in the case under relevant sections. To unveil the incident, a total of 04 police station level and surveillance teams have been formed, which are making efforts to identify and arrest the suspect through CCTV cameras and ITMS. The successful unveiling of the event will be done soon.
