Luka Doncic makes unexpected move following unfortunate Lakers injury news
The Los Angeles Lakers are dealing with a ticking clock when it comes to Luka Doncic and his injured hamstring. The team knows what he brings to the table, especially with championship aspirations still alive.
Doncic put up 33.5 points, 8.3 assists and 7.7 rebounds over 64 games this season, forming a key trio with LeBron James and Austin Reaves that pushed the Lakers to the third seed in the West.
Luka Doncic seeks expert help for hamstring injury
Doncic went down with a Grade 2 hamstring strain during Thursday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The initial prognosis ruled him out for the rest of the regular season, and those types of injuries typically need several weeks or more to heal properly.
Things got messier when Reaves also landed on the sidelines with a Grade 2 oblique strain. But new reports indicate Doncic isn’t willing to wait around.
“After consultation with Lakers doctors and his own medical team, Luka Doncic will seek specialized medical treatment in Europe on his Grade 2 left hamstring in an attempt to expedite his return to play,” agent Bill Duffy of WME Basketball shared, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
