Asha Bhosle will be cremated with state honours, 4 hours fixed for last darshan
Tezzbuzz Desk – Country’s veteran singer Asha Bhosle departed from this world on Sunday. 92-year-old Asha Bhosle died during treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. She was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, where doctors tried their best to save her life, but many organs of her body had stopped functioning. Asha Bhosle’s son Anand Bhosle, speaking to the media outside the hospital, said in an emotional tone, “My mother is no longer with us.” He also gave information about the final farewell programme. - Last darshan: On Monday, April 13, from 11 am to 3 pm, people will be able to have the last darshan of Asha Bhosle at her residence ‘Casa Grand’ (Lower Parel, Mumbai).
- Last rites: His last rites will be performed at Mumbai’s historic Shivaji Park cremation ground at 4 pm on Monday.
Funeral with state honors On the death of Asha Bhosle, the Maharashtra government has decided that her last rites will be performed with full state honors. BJP leader Ashish Shelar gave this information after talking to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Ashish Shelar said, “Today the entire country and Maharashtra are immersed in deep sorrow. Asha Tai’s demise is the end of an era. Her personality was such that she herself embraced sorrow, but gave happiness and joy to crores of people with her priceless voice. Her music is the heritage not only of India but of the entire world.”Musical Heritage Asha Bhosle was the younger sister of vocal empress Lata Mangeshkar. Lata Didi died on 6 February 2022. Asha Bhosle sang thousands of songs in different languages including Hindi cinema for more than six decades and left an indelible mark on the hearts of music lovers with her melodious, energetic and versatile voice. The news of her demise has sent a wave of mourning across the country. Music luminaries, actors, politicians and millions of fans have started paying tribute to him.
