The agreement broke at the last moment, Araghchi’s statement made everything clear; Serious allegations against US

Islamabad Peace Talk: iran Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said on Monday, 13 April, that an agreement between the two sides was “inches away” but faced maximalism, constantly changing conditions and obstacles.

Araghchi’s comments came a day after the meeting which took place between the two sides in Pakistan over the weekend. The objective of this meeting was to find a permanent solution to end the ongoing war in West Asia, but no major success could be achieved in it. After this, questions began to arise as to what actually happened in the high-level talks.

What did Araghchi say?

Araghchi said Iran negotiated with the US with “good intentions” to end the war. He wrote that for the first time in almost 47 years, serious talks at such a high level took place between the two countries. He wrote on his social media platform He also said that no lessons were learned from this process.

A few hours before this, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also indicated that an agreement is still possible, but for this the US will have to give up its ‘unilateral attitude’ and respect Iran’s rights.

What advice did you give to America?

He said, “If the US government abandons its totalitarian attitude and respects the rights of the Iranian nation, then a path to agreement can definitely be found.” While appreciating the negotiation team, he especially mentioned Dr. Ghalibaf and wished him all the best.

Iranian leaders say they entered the talks with “good intentions” and believe the two sides can reach an agreement that could lead to a permanent solution to the conflict in West Asia.

What did MK Ghalibaf say?

Iranian Parliament Speaker MK Ghalibaf, who led the Iranian delegation to Pakistan, also said that Iran had started the talks with a desire for a deal, but did not trust the other side. He said his colleagues made several forward-looking suggestions, but the other side failed to win the confidence of the Iranian delegation.

What did Donald Trump say?

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump also said that many issues were agreed upon in the talks, but Iran was not ready to back down on the issue of its nuclear program, which he described as the most important.

Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that the meeting was good and agreement was reached on many issues, but no agreement could be reached on the most important issue i.e. the nuclear program. He wrote, “Iran is not ready to give up its nuclear ambitions.” He warned in another post that Iran will have to abandon its nuclear intentions.

Meanwhile, US CENTCOM also announced that from 10 am (Eastern Time) on April 13, its forces would impose a ‘blockade’ on all maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports. CENTCOM said that this blockade will apply equally to ships of all countries, which enter or exit Iranian ports or coastal areas of the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. However, they also clarified that they will not obstruct ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, which may be headed towards non-Iranian ports.
