Girls dominate in 8th board result, 19 positions in top-20, toppers get direct admission in ‘School of Eminence’
Punjab News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said Punjab’s ‘education revolution’ is yielding results at the grassroots level and daughters from ordinary families have dominated the Punjab School Education Board’s Class 8 merit list by securing 19 out of the first 20 positions. Top students honored in Chandigarh
Sharing some excerpts from the conversation with the students, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann wrote on Twitter, “The promising students from the entire state who stood first in the results of class 8th of Punjab School Education Board were honored in Chandigarh today. On this special occasion, their parents and teachers were also heartily congratulated.”
The Chief Minister said, “In this year’s results, the first position has been secured by the promising daughter of an accountant working at a brick kiln, while the second and third positions have been secured by the daughters of a tile shop owner and a government primary school teacher respectively. These results clearly show that children from ordinary families are now setting new standards in the field of education. We feel very happy and proud to see the confidence, hard work and dedication of these children.”

The top ranked students have proved their merit and hence they will be given admission under special quota in the School of Eminence on the basis of merit without any entrance examination.”

This is a historic day as the best performing students from across the state have gathered here.”

Motivating the students, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann appealed to them to remain humble and believe in hard work. Toppers, provincial and national level athletes too
The Chief Minister also honored the top three students with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each at his residence. Tamanna of Saraswati Senior Secondary School, Jaito (Faridkot) stood first by scoring 600 marks out of 600, Jaspreet Kaur of Government Middle School, Adakwas (Sangrur) stood second by scoring 598 marks and Jashandeep Kaur of Sant Mohan Das Memorial Senior Secondary School, Kot Sukhiya (Faridkot) stood third by scoring 598 marks. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said with pride that these three students are also provincial and national level athletes.

While interacting with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the students shared their aspirations and expressed happiness at being honored in person, saying that they come from humble backgrounds and are determined to realize their dreams with hard work, dedication and support from the government.
