‘The deal was inches away’: Why Iran-US talks broke down at the last moment
Important talks between Iran and the United States held in Islamabad ended without any result. This high-level meeting was expected to reduce the ongoing tension between the two countries, but the matter worsened at the last moment.
Foreign Minister’s big revelation
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi made a big statement saying that “the deal was just inches away.” That is, the agreement was almost finalized, but America’s stand at the last moment changed everything.
Why did the deal break at the last moment?
According to Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, America suddenly changed its conditions during the talks and made new demands. He said, “We negotiated with full honesty, but due to America’s excessive demands and stubborn attitude, no agreement could be reached.”
Biggest conversation in 47 years
This conversation was considered to be the most high-level dialogue between the two countries in the last 47 years. Both sides held long discussions, and hoped to reach an “Islamabad MoU”, but ultimately everything failed.
