Amarnath Yatra 2026: Keep these important items in your bag only then you will be able to have darshan easily.

The long wait of devotees for Amarnath Yatra 2026 is about to end as the Shrine Board has announced the main dates for this year’s yatra. According to official information, the process of online and offline registration for the journey will be started from April 15, 2026. The administration hopes that the Yatra will be formally inaugurated with the first darshan of Baba Barfani in late June or early July. Shiva devotees wish to complete this difficult and sacred journey at least once in their life, but the path to Baba’s court is as spiritual as it is challenging.

It is not easy for everyone to reach this cave located at a height of thousands of feet above sea level. For this, the devotees not only have to be physically and mentally fit, but also have to make concrete preparations in advance to deal with the sudden weather, lack of oxygen and difficult paths. Packing a right bag is the most important part of this journey, because every small and big thing you need in the mountains will be in your bag only. If you too are planning to visit Bholenath this time, then this packing guide will help in making your journey safe and stress-free.

Security of documents and identity

The most important step before starting your journey is to keep your legal and identity documents safe so that there is no problem during checking.

Aadhar Card and Registration Slip: First of all, keep your Aadhar card, original identity card and registration slip received for the journey in the bag. It is better to keep these papers in a waterproof folder so that they do not get damaged in rain.

Travel insurance documents: Travel insurance is mandatory as per Shrine Board rules, so always keep your insurance documents and a photocopy of them with you in a place where they can be easily found if needed.

Essential medicines and first aid kit

Health can deteriorate due to lack of oxygen and fatigue at the height of the mountains, so it is most important to prepare a medical kit.

Important medicines: Keep pain reliever spray, medicines for headache, fever, cold, cough and diarrhea in your bag. There is often a problem of nausea (vomiting) at altitude, so keep your medicine with you as per doctor’s advice.

First aid items: In case of minor injuries or sprains on the way, keep bandages, antiseptic creams and bandages with you so that you can get immediate treatment.

warm clothes to avoid cold

The weather of Amarnath is very unpredictable; one may have to face severe cold as well as sudden heavy rains.

Packing of warm clothes: To protect yourself from cold, keep a thermal jacket, woolen sweater, gloves, cap and muffler with you. These things will keep you safe from the freezing cold that occurs near the cave.

Rain and shoe selection: It can rain at any time in the mountains, so carry a strong raincoat, umbrella and waterproof bag cover. While choosing shoes, make sure that they have good grip and are waterproof so that you can walk safely on slippery roads.

power bank and torch

There may be electricity problems in remote areas, so you will have to be self-reliant in terms of technology and lighting.

Lighting arrangement: Carry a heavy-duty power bank for mobile charging as it is difficult to find charging points on the way. Don’t forget to carry a bright torch and plenty of batteries for night trips or dark roads.

Essential Accessories: Use sunscreen, sunglasses and mask to protect from sun and dust. A ‘walking stick’ is very useful to support the body during climbing.

energizing snack

The body needs a lot of energy during climbing, so it is important to be careful about eating.

Nutritious and light breakfast: Keep light snacks like roasted gram, dark chocolate, dry fruits and biscuits in your bag. These things will give you plenty of energy even if eaten in small quantities.

Water Bottle and Hydration: Do not let there be shortage of water in the body. Keep a water bottle with you and keep drinking water every now and then so that you stay away from fatigue and dehydration.
