PM Modi said – Government is planning for every stage of life cycle for women empowerment.
New Delhi, 13 April. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the government is making special schemes for every stage of the life cycle for true empowerment of women and they are being successfully implemented. Addressing the Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan organized here in the background of the Women’s Reservation Bill before it was passed in Parliament on Thursday, PM Modi said, “Our government has made plans for every stage of the life cycle of women and has successfully implemented them.”
He said that from the freedom struggle to the decisions of the Constituent Assembly, India’s women power has made immense contribution in laying the foundation of independent India and Panchayati Raj institutions are a great example of women leadership in the country. The Prime Minister said that the government is empowering women through many small and big steps with the aim of realizing the concept of a progressive society.
He said that by giving one-third reservation to women in Lok Sabha and Assemblies through the Women’s Reservation Bill, the country is now going to empower democracy in a new way by empowering women. He said, “Today women are reaching great heights even in those fields which were once considered the monopoly of men. The women power of the country has touched new heights with their hard work, courage and self-confidence. Now together we have to give new energy to this power and expand opportunities for it.”
Modi assured the women power present at the conference that the government is taking continuous steps to fulfill their aspirations. “I want to assure everyone that the country understands their aspirations and is taking steps to fulfill them,” he said. Modi appealed to the women to take all the MPs into confidence to pass the Women’s Reservation Bill and prepare them to support it. She said that the discussion held in this conference should also be taken to every woman in every corner of the country.
He said, “Women should meet the MPs and present their views and express their aspirations.” The Prime Minister said that he appeals to all the mothers and sisters to send off the MPs with flower garlands on the day this Bill comes to the Parliament, so that they can participate in this positive decision. He said that today everyone should take a pledge that women will have rights and will also become partners in decision making.
Modi said that although this is the right of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, but he wants that during this bill, the audience gallery of the Parliament should be filled with women only. He said that this will create a festive atmosphere in the country. He said that all the credit for this achievement goes to the country’s mother power, Parliament and all the parties.
