Nature’s double attack! Somewhere there is torture of storm and rain and somewhere there is havoc of heat wave, next 24 hours will be heavy on these 11 states

At present, the weather pattern of the country seems to be on two axes. On one hand, ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for storm and rain in 11 states from mountains to plains, while on the other hand, many states of Central and Western India are burning in the heat wave. According to the latest report of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), on April 13, 2026, two very different forms of weather will be seen in the country.

Thunderstorm and lightning alert in 11 states

The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain and dust storm in 11 states of North and North-Eastern India for Monday, April 13. Winds can blow at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour in states like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tripura and Nagaland. Experts believe that due to snowfall in the mountains and Western Disturbance, moisture has increased in the plains, due to which this sudden change has occurred. There is also a danger of lightning in West Bengal.

Delhi-NCR: After a pleasant morning, there will be sunshine in the afternoon

This morning has started with cold winds in the country’s capital Delhi and surrounding cities like Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram, but this relief will not last long. According to IMD, the temperature may rise by 3 to 4 degrees by afternoon. Today the maximum temperature of Delhi is expected to be 34 degrees and minimum 22 degrees Celsius, which means you will have to face scorching heat in the afternoon.

Severe heat wave in UP, Bihar and Rajasthan

The weather of Uttar Pradesh is divided into two parts; There is an alert of thunderstorm and rain in Eastern UP, while a warning of heat wave has been issued in Western UP. The mercury can go up to 36 degrees in Lucknow. At the same time, people from Patna to Gaya in Bihar are suffering from the heat, although light showers may occur in districts like Araria and Champaran of North Bihar. The sun will shine in cities like Jaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer of Rajasthan and an alert of severe heat wave has been issued here.

Condition of mountains: Freezing cold in Manali

If you are planning a trip to the mountains this weekend, then be careful! The minimum temperature in Himachal’s Manali is expected to drop to -4 degrees Celsius. There is an alert of heavy rain and strong winds in Shimla, Kullu and Chamba. There is a possibility of moderate rain in the high altitude areas like Badrinath and Kedarnath of Uttarakhand, which will increase the cold there significantly.

Dust storm in Punjab-Haryana, humidity in south

There may be rain and thundershowers in Amritsar, Chandigarh and Ludhiana of Punjab today. Districts like Ambala and Rohtak in Haryana will see winds reaching speeds of up to 50 km/hr, which is a matter of concern for farmers as it is harvest time. On the other hand, the weather in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in South India will remain dry and people will be troubled by the humid heat due to temperatures 2-3 degrees above normal.

Overall, the weather of the country is currently going through a major transition phase. At some places pre-monsoon activities are active, while at other places the heat is showing its fierce form. In such a situation, it is important that you go out of the house only after keeping in mind the weather of your area and take precautions.
