Made in India Water Stove:Tensions in the Middle East have led to a global fuel and gas crisis. As the situation is tense, it is affecting domestic affairs. Most importantly, there was a threat to the gas supply. To avoid shortage of LPG in the country, the government has revised the gas booking rules. There is no shortage of domestic gas in the country as compared to before, but there is still an atmosphere of fear among the public. These fears have been exacerbated by the failure of peace talks between the US and Iran. But in all this there is a fear that there will be shortage of gas again. Only water is required to run the stove

According to a report in ‘The Times of India’, this “Made in India” Chulha has also been dubbed as “Plug-and-Play Hydrogen Cooking Stove”. It is designed in such a way that it is extremely well designed for both domestic and commercial use. One of its major features is that this stove requires only water and not gas or oil to run it.

How does the stove work on water?

A company called Greenvize has developed this stove. The most important feature of this grate is its functionality; It pretty much runs on water. It incorporates a special ‘proton exchange membrane’ (PEM) electrolyser. This is the technology system that uses electricity to break down water molecules to produce hydrogen gas directly inside the grate, thereby igniting the burner.

Looks similar to stainless steel grates

In terms of appearance, this grater is a tabletop appliance. Just like regular stainless steel grates commonly found in kitchens. For six hours of continuous cooking on this grill, only 100 milliliters of distilled or RO water is required. Moreover, this grate consumes only 1 unit of electricity to operate. In other words, there is no need to lift heavy cylinders, nor worry about frequent refilling of cylinders.

The grill is completely environmentally friendly

According to experts, this grate works on the principle of ‘Zero Emission’. This means that it does not emit toxic carbon monoxide gas while cooking, nor does it produce any kind of black smoke. After the cooking is done, it releases only ‘steam’; Which makes this grate completely eco-friendly.
This grill uses ‘Catalytic Hydrogen Burner’ technology, which produces a highly controlled and safe flame. It has two burners, which can be ignited manually. No worries about ventilation, you can easily use it even in small and confined kitchens.

What is the exact cost of the stove?

Talking about the price, the two-burner grill is priced at ₹1,50,000, while the single-burner model is priced at ₹1,05,000. Given this high cost ratio, these grates are currently considered more suitable for large commercial kitchens, community kitchens, government projects and industrial canteens than for ordinary homes. Currently the company’s main focus is on setting up these units in larger organizations as part of pilot projects. Due to the high cost of this stove, it may not be in the reach of every household kitchen at present, but it is an important and decisive step towards future energy security. As this technology expands, it is expected that its cost will also decrease.
