UP employees came out! Now you will get double overtime and timely salary, CM Yogi gave a tough blow to private companies

The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has taken a big and historic decision in favor of lakhs of laborers working in the industrial areas of Noida and Greater Noida. Now employees of private companies will not only get double the overtime for their hard work, but direct bank transfer of salary and bonus will also be ensured on time. After the tough stance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the District Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar has ordered all the industrial units to implement these rules with immediate effect.

Companies bowed down after the movement, workers won

This decision has come after the massive labor agitation that has been going on for the last three days in major areas like Sector-62 and Sector-80 of Noida. Thousands of workers took to the streets and raised their voice against delay in salaries and arbitrary cuts. Seeing this anger of the workers, the administration has made it clear that now there will be no playing with the rights of the employees.

Double overtime and fixed salary till 10th

According to the new rules, now if an employee works extra time (overtime) after his duty, he will have to be paid double his normal rate. Any kind of deduction in this will be considered illegal. Apart from this, companies will have to deposit the salaries of employees in their accounts in lump sum by the 10th of every month and will also have to provide detailed salary slips. Not only this, weekly off will now be mandatory and if work is done on Sunday, double the amount will have to be paid. The deadline for annual bonus has also been fixed as 30th November.

Special arrangements for women’s safety

Yogi government has also issued strict guidelines regarding the safety and respect of women employees. Now it is mandatory for every factory and office to have an ‘Internal Complaint Committee’ with a woman chairperson. A complaint box will have to be installed at the workplace and a dedicated control room or helpline number will have to be arranged. The aim of these measures is to prevent workplace exploitation and provide a safe working environment for women.

License of companies will be canceled if rules are broken

The District Magistrate has warned that very strict action will be taken against the companies which violate these labor reforms. This includes the provision of even canceling the company’s license. The government aims to make Gautam Buddha Nagar a ‘model’ for the entire Uttar Pradesh, where the rights of workers are protected and industries can also run smoothly.

Experts believe that timely payment and better facilities will not only improve the economic condition of workers but will also increase the productivity of companies. Outsourcing employees are already getting benefits like medical and pension, and now these new rules have created a wave of enthusiasm among private sector workers.
