Arvind Kejriwal himself came to present his side in the court, raised questions on the arguments of CBI; Discussion on demand to change judge
Arvind Kejriwal Liquor Case: Aam Aadmi Party chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reached Delhi High Court for hearing of CBI’s petition in the liquor policy case. During the hearing in the court, he himself presented his side, while on behalf of CBI, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, Additional Solicitor General S. V. Raju was present in the court. During this time there was a huge crowd in the court premises.
The trial court has acquitted – Kejriwal
While presenting his side in the court, Kejriwal said, I respect the justice and also respect the court. Responding to this, the bench said that respect is mutual. You speak on your issue. After this Kejriwal said, I am standing here like an accused. Although the trial court has acquitted me. On this the bench stopped and said that you should present your stand on the matter of removal of the judge.

Kejriwal himself presented his side during the hearing. During this, he also cited various orders of the Supreme Court. Arvind Kejriwal said that a trend is being seen that everything said by CBI-ED has been accepted. On this the bench said it did not agree. Kejriwal said that whenever he gives an application, it is accepted and the order is passed in his favour.
The lower court had acquitted
Let us tell you that during the hearing on February 27, the trial court had acquitted Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and 21 others. Also, the lower court had reprimanded the Central Bureau of Investigation and said that this case is not capable of standing judicial investigation. This has been found to be completely unreliable. After that, on March 9, Justice Sharma had issued notice to all the 23 accused on the petition of the Central Bureau of Investigation.

It was said in it that some of the observations of the lower court at the stage of framing of charges appeared to be erroneous. On March 11, Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia had expressed apprehension that the hearing would not be fair and had appealed to change the judge. Chief Justice of Delhi High Court DK Upadhyay had rejected Kejriwal’s request and said that the decision to remove a judge has to be taken by the judge concerned.
