IPL 2026: Why is Krunal Pandya hitting bouncers in every match despite being a spinner? Revealed his own big strategy
Krunal Pandya Statement: Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Krunal Pandya is looking in great form in IPL 2026. He has played an important role in bowling for his team and has put pressure on the batsmen especially in the middle overs. Krunal is in the news this season for his unique bowling style, especially the use of bouncers, which is generally not considered easy for spin bowlers.
What did Krunal say on the use of bouncer?
After the match against Mumbai Indians, Krunal Pandya spoke openly about his strategy. He said, ‘I never shy away from trying new things. After the introduction of the Impact Player rule, now batsmen come to play till number eight, due to which the challenge for the bowlers has increased further.”
He further said, ‘Batsmen like Mukul and Vaibhav are aggressive from the beginning, so I always try to be one step ahead of the batsman. People talk about my bouncers, but I want to focus on my basic bowling only.”
Headache for batsmen
Krunal Pandya’s bouncer balls have become a big challenge for the batsmen this season. Even big hitters like Shivam Dubey, Hardik Pandya and Shimron Hetmyer have not looked comfortable against him. Especially he dismissed Hetmyer on the very first ball, which shows the success of his strategy.
consistent performance
Krunal Pandya has been performing consistently well this season. He took 2 wickets against Chennai Super Kings, while against Rajasthan Royals also he sent 2 batsmen to the pavilion. Even though he got only 1 wicket against Mumbai Indians, he bowled economically and spent only 26 runs.
