In fact, only 18 per cent GST is applicable on bikes with capacity less than 350cc, whereas the current Dominar 400 (which has a 373.3 cc engine) attracts a whopping 40 per cent tax. big price cut

Bajaj has made this big cut in the prices of Dominar as a well-thought-out strategy. Actually, the company has now given a 349cc engine in the new Dominar 400, which has proved to be a big game-changer in terms of the tax rules of the Government of India. According to the rules, the GST rate on bikes with capacity less than 350cc is much lower and Bajaj has passed the direct benefit of this tax saving to its customers.

Bajaj has made a big cut in terms of price. Now the price of the new Dominar 400 has come down to Rs 2 lakh. While the starting ex-showroom price of the current model is Rs 2.40 lakh, according to dealer sources the new 350cc model has been introduced at just Rs 1,99,998 (ex-showroom). This means that customers will now get a huge savings of about Rs 40 thousand i.e. about 17 percent directly on their favorite bike.

There is no significant difference in performance

The most interesting thing is that despite the low engine capacity, Bajaj has named this bike ‘Dominar 400’. The company aims to maintain the brand identity and prevent any confusion among customers. Although the engine has become smaller, it is still equally powerful in terms of performance. According to the leaked information, the new 350cc engine generates around 39 PS of power and 33.2 Nm of torque, which is a very slight difference compared to the old model (40 PS and 35 Nm).

This reduction in power and torque is so small that you will not feel any significant difference while riding the bike on the road in real life. Technically speaking, the bore of the engine has been retained at 89 mm, only its stroke length has been reduced from 60 mm to 56.1 mm. Its biggest advantage is that there has been no change in the signature ‘exhaust note’ of the bike, due to which you will get the same old Dominar feel.

No compromise in features

The good news is that this change in the engine has not affected the premium appeal of the bike at all. Bajaj has not made any cut in its features and features, which means you will get the same great experience as before. For suspension, it has the same reliable 43 mm USD forks at the front and Nitrox adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear. At the same time, to keep the grip of the bike strong, it gets wide tubeless tires (front 110/R70 and rear 150/R60) with 17-inch alloy wheels.

In terms of safety, this bike is equally strong, where dual-channel ABS has been kept as standard along with 320 mm front and 230 mm rear disc brakes. Also, to make riding fun and safe, it has been provided with LED headlamp, traction control and four different riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport and Off-Road). Apart from this, the bike gets the same color digital instrument console, which gives the rider all the necessary information in detail during the journey.

350cc update of other bikes

More bikes will benefit from this tax-saving strategy of Bajaj. Along with the new Dominar 400, Bajaj will also soon introduce a 350cc version of its Pulsar NS400Z. Not only this, 350cc versions of KTM 390 bikes are also going to be launched soon. Let us remind you that Bajaj has already updated the Triumph 400 range on similar lines.

Who will get the competition?

With this new and aggressive pricing, Bajaj Dominar 350 will give a tough competition to the Triumph Speed 400 T4 present in the market, as now the price gap between the two bikes has reduced considerably.

What does the company say?

Commenting on the launch, Sarang Kanade, President (MCBU), Bajaj Auto Limited, said, “Dominar has always been known for its long and powerful ride. With the new 350cc engine, we are making this bike more accessible to more people. Riders will now get the same old Dominar feel at a lower price and lower maintenance costs. This step is a big effort by us to make touring and sports motorcycling accessible to everyone in India. Is.”
