Strict measures for discipline in Haryana schools

New order of education department in Haryana

Chandigarh, 13 April. The Education Department has taken strict steps to maintain discipline in government schools of Haryana. In view of the increasing influence of social media in schools of Hisar and Hansi, the District Education Department has imposed a complete ban on reel making and shooting of any non-academic videos. The department has clarified that schools are only a place for education and not for entertainment. If a video of a school appears on social media, the staff and principal there will be held responsible.

Ban on making videos while studying

In recent times, it has been seen that teachers and students are making reels and uploading them in the classroom or playground during school hours. Such activities have affected the dignity of schools. The department believes that this poses a threat to the privacy and security of the students and also wastes important study time. For this reason, the department has adopted ‘zero tolerance’ policy so that the future of children is safe.

Responsibility of principal and teachers

According to the new instructions, videos going viral on social media will be thoroughly investigated. If any teacher is found guilty, strict departmental action will be taken against him. Apart from this, the principal has also been held accountable for failing to maintain school discipline. The Education Department has made it clear that ignoring the rules will not be tolerated in this era of social media. Now only studies and discipline will be given priority in schools.

recording permission

However, the department has made some concessions for educational activities. Video recording of awareness programs, cultural festivals or educational activities taking place in the school will be allowed, but for this, written permission will have to be taken from the concerned higher authorities. During this period, monitoring of teachers will be mandatory to ensure that the cameras are being used only for education and improvement and not for making reels.
