South Africa announced squad against Indian women’s team
India vs South Africa: Indian women’s cricket team will start the tour of South Africa from April 17 keeping in mind the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026. On this tour, Team India has to play a series of 5 T20 matches, the squad for which was announced long ago by BCCI. All eyes were on the South African squad, which has been announced by the Africa Cricket Board. In this, experienced player Laura Wolvaardt will take the responsibility of captaining her team.
Former captain Dan van Niekerk did not get a place
South Africa has not included former captain Dane van Niekerk in the squad announced for the 5-match T20 series against the Indian women’s team. Van Niekerk is still recovering from the calf injury that ruled her out of the New Zealand series last month. This means that since retiring from international cricket last year, he has played just five T20 matches and none of them away from home. Despite this, if she recovers from her injury before the T20 World Cup, she can be considered for inclusion for the mega tournament, in which she is one of the most experienced players of the African women’s T20 team, in which she has played 91 T20 matches.
