John Cena, Brett Lee remember Asha Bhosle after her death
The death of Indian legendary singer Asha Bhosle, affectionately known as “Asha Tai”, has left a void that is being felt by people across the world.
Tributes and condolences are pouring in, not just from Indian fans and celebrities, but also from international stars.
WWE star and actor John Cena also paid tribute to the veteran singer following her death on Sunday, April 12. He shared a post on his Instagram account, honouring her memories.
The 48-year-old’s post received warm responses from his desi fans online, with many expressing appreciation for the American actor and professional wrestler on recognising a music legend.
Before this, former Australian cricketer Brett Lee also honoured Asha Bhosle. He shared memories of their 2006 duet, You’re the One for Me, highlighting her kindness and humility alongside her extraordinary talent.
He wrote, “What stayed with me most wasn’t just her extraordinary talent, but how kind and humble she was. For someone who had achieved so much in her life, she carried herself with such warmth and generosity.”
Asha Bhosle had a career spanning more than 8 decades. She was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the Most Recorded Artist in music history for recording up to 11,000 solo, duet, and chorus-backed songs in over 20 Indian languages
The late singer was cremated with full state honours at the Shivaji Park Crematorium in Mumbai on Monday, in the presence of Family members, friends and many well-known personalities from the film industry, who were gathered to pay their last respects.
