IPL 2026: Action against Ajinkya Rahane after defeat by CSK, becomes the 5th captain to make this mistake

Ajinkya Rahane Fined: After the defeat against Chennai Super Kings, major action has been taken against KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane. However, this action has not been taken because of the defeat against Chennai Super Kings under his captaincy. Rather, the reason behind this is his team i.e. Kolkata Knight Riders becoming a victim of slow over rate. Captain Ajinkya Rahane has been fined Rs 12 lakh for this mistake of KKR in the match against Chennai Super Kings.

Ajinkya Rahane became the 5th captain

Ajinkya Rahane is the 5th captain to face fine for slow over rate in IPL. Punjab Kings team was the first victim of slow over rate. Its captain Shreyas Iyer has been fined twice for slow over rate. Gujarat Titans captain Shubhman Gill has been fined Rs 12 lakh due to slow over rate. CSK’s Ruturaj Gaikwad became the third captain to suffer the punishment for slow over rate, while after him, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya also became the victim of slow over rate.

Ajinkya Rahane fined Rs 12 lakh

IPL issued a statement saying that KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane has been fined for the team’s slow over rate. A fine of Rs 12 lakh has been imposed on him. It is clear that nothing good seems to be happening for Rahane in IPL 2026. Neither is his bat working. Neither is the team winning under his captaincy and now the fine imposed after consecutive defeats has worked like sprinkling salt on the wound.

CSK beat KKR by 32 runs
