I always knew they had the X-factor: SRH bowling coach Varun Aaron on Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain

Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain’s respective four-fers on debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals on Monday arrived as a panacea for its bowling deficiencies.

From the feisty opening over where 24-year-old Praful scooped up three wickets to a resurgence towards the death where SRH snuffed Royals’ fightback, this bite with the ball is what the management was praying for and working towards.

“You only debut once in any form of cricket. Given where they’ve come from, what both have done today is massive. My only plea to both of them was for them to enjoy the game. To see them come out and bowl this way was a dream come true for the team, 100 per cent,” bowling coach Varun Aaron told reporters.

Aaron credited the management for backing his instincts about the side’s domestic bowling pool.

“Everyone’s buy-in is needed to pick boys in the auction. I won’t take credit. Omkar (Tarmale) is also a wonderful bowler. He has a small niggle, which is why he hasn’t figured earlier in the game. These players, especially Sakib and Praful, have that X-factor.”

Player-of-the-match Praful picked Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s dismissal for a duck as his favourite.

“He said, ‘I’ve gotten Vaibhav out before. I am going to get him today too.’ He wanted to go around the wicket, but I insisted he stay over the wicket. That said, the plan and the conviction were his, and I am really happy for him,” Aaron added.
