New Delhi. Bihar has now got a new Chief Minister in the form of Samrat Chaudhary. Along with the Chief Minister, both the Deputy CMs have also changed. Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav from JDU quota have been made Deputy Chief Ministers in the Bihar government led by Samrat Chaudhary. Earlier, when Nitish Kumar was the Chief Minister, two Deputy CMs were from BJP’s quota and now after BJP becoming the Chief Minister, JDU has got both the posts of Deputy Chief Minister. Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Yadav also took the oath of office and secrecy today along with CM Samrat Chaudhary.

Vijay Kumar Chaudhary: Senior JDU leader Vijay Kumar Chaudhary is considered close to Nitish Kumar. He is among the big Bhumihar leaders of the party. Vijay Chaudhary, originally from Samastipur in Bihar, first worked in SBI, later he joined politics in the 80s and joined Congress. While in Congress, he was also an MLA and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly. After this he joined JDU. Vijay Chaudhary has been winning every election held since 2005. While in the Nitish government, he has handled many important ministries like water resources, information and public relations, education and rural development. He has also been the Speaker of Bihar Assembly from 2015 to 2020.

Bijendra Yadav: Bijendra Prasad Yadav, who started his political innings with Janata Dal in 1990, became MLA for the first time by winning elections from Supaul region. Bijendra Yadav was once very close to Lalu Yadav and in 1991 Lalu Yadav made him Minister of State. After this, he got the post of Urban Development Minister in 1995. During the split of Janata Dal in 1997, Bijendra left Lalu Yadav and joined Sharad Yadav. After this, when Sharad Yadav and Nitish Kumar joined hands, Bijendra also joined JDU. From then till today he is with JDU. During this period, he has also handled the responsibilities of JDU State President and other important ministries. He has been a minister in every government of Nitish Kumar.
