Registration Process Begins
Terming this monthly financial assistance scheme a true tribute to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar’s ideals of equality and social justice, the Punjab government has officially commenced the registration process. Under this scheme, all women aged 18 and above can avail of the benefits by submitting just three documents. Furthermore, arrangements have been made to provide these services to women right at their doorsteps through an extensive network of camps and support staff.
The Punjab government is set to launch this scheme initially in nine assembly constituencies. From May 15 onwards, it will be expanded to cover the remaining 108 constituencies. Financial disbursements under the scheme will begin in July, and there will be no deadline for registration.
Furthermore, with 26,000 registration centers and dedicated ‘Mahila Satikar Sakhis’ (Women Empowerment Volunteers) deployed in every village and ward, the scheme is poised for large-scale implementation, ensuring wider reach and guaranteed delivery of benefits.
When Will Registration Begin in the Remaining 108 Constituencies?
Accompanied by senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced that the scheme has been launched on a pilot basis in nine assembly constituencies, including Adampur, Malout, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Dirba, Sunam, Moga, Kotkapura, Batala, and Patiala Rural.
He stated, “The registration process for women in the remaining 108 circles will commence one month from now—specifically, on May 15. The monthly payment of ₹1,000 or ₹1,500 will begin in July 2026.” Meanwhile, reassuring women regarding accessibility, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann affirmed that there is no deadline for registration and that women need not worry.
