‘Ryan Parag shows off…’, why did the former Indian cricketer say this about the RR captain, unhappy with this decision

Rajasthan Royals team has shown a good performance so far in IPL 2026. After registering consecutive wins in the first 4 matches, the team had to face defeat at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad. But as soon as there is a defeat, Riyan Parag’s captaincy is in the dock. Former Indian cricketer S Srikkanth, while talking on his YouTube channel, has raised questions on Ryan’s decisions. Not only this, he has even said that he is just for show. Let us tell you, Riyan Parag has played 5 matches so far in IPL 2026, in which he has scored 49 runs at a strike rate of 136.11 and a disappointing average of 12.25.

Riyan Parag is for show

Former India captain Kris Srikkanth has criticized Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag and raised questions on his performance and ability in the IPL. This comment of Srikanth has come after Rajasthan Royals’ first defeat of this season.

S Srikanth said on his YouTube channel, “He is just there for show. As usual, he did nothing with the bat and gave a speech in the post-match presentation after the match. He is just there for show and does nothing. He doesn’t even bowl an over to Jadeja and then gives an explanation by saying that the left-hander was playing. Is there any rule that a left-arm spinner cannot bowl to a left-hander? This is absurd.”

Spinners dipped the ball

S Srikkanth also criticized the bowling, saying how the combined bowling of Tushar Deshpande, Sandeep Sharma and Ravi Bishnoi gave away a lot of runs and effectively gave away the match. In the match played with SRH, Rajasthan Royals had to face their first defeat of the season in a disappointing manner.

Srikanth said, “Tushar Deshpande, Sandeep Sharma and Ravi Bishnoi scored 142 runs in 11 overs. This is where the match ended. Wherever Sandeep Sharma was bowling, the batsmen thrashed him and Deshpande completely failed. Suddenly, Railways too will have to start thinking about their bowling combination. If they continue bowling like this, they will face a crushing defeat.”

Rajasthan Royals are on top in the points table

The Rajasthan Royals team, captained by Riyan Parag, is progressing with great performance in IPL 2026. Rajasthan Royals team is at number-1 in the points table of IPL 2026. The franchise has played 5 matches so far, in which it won 4 consecutive matches and then had to face defeat from Hyderabad in the fifth match. In this way, it remains at the first position with 8 points and +0.889 net run rate.
