Punjab government removed Raghav Chaddha’s security, Central government gave Z security.
According to the information, this decision has been taken on the basis of the threat perception report of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). The Home Ministry has taken this step after assessing all security related aspects.
The ‘AAP’ government of Punjab had withdrawn the state level security of Raghav Chadha. Earlier, when he was elected Rajya Sabha member from Punjab, he was given high level Z Plus security by the state government.
For some time now, tension between Raghav Chadha and the Aam Aadmi Party leadership has come to the fore. This controversy further increased when the party removed him from the post of Deputy Leader in Rajya Sabha on 2 April. After this decision, Chadha had given a sharp reaction saying that he has been silenced but not defeated.
Recently, he also shared a video with the title ‘Awaaz uthaai, price paid’ on the social media platform Instagram. The video gave a glimpse of various issues raised by him during Parliament. He said in his post that his work itself will answer those who are questioning his parliamentary performance.
The Aam Aadmi Party had alleged that the reason behind removing Raghav Chadha from the post of Deputy Leader was that he was not speaking out loud against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government in the Parliament and was paying more attention to his publicity.
However, Raghav Chadha completely rejected these allegations and called them false. He said that he goes to Parliament not to create ruckus but to raise the issues of the people. After being removed from the post of Deputy Leader, Raghav Chadha is continuously active on social media and is expressing his views through many videos and posts.
At present, the decision to increase security is being considered as a big relief for him, but discussions are going on in political circles regarding the increasing distance between him and the party.
