Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ postponed to June 2026: Production team cites post-production refinements
In a surprising turn of events for fans of Telugu cinema, the release of the highly anticipated sports drama Skins has been postponed once again. The announcement comes just two weeks before its scheduled April 30 premieremarking the second major delay for the project after it was moved from its original March 27 date.
The postponement has sparked significant conversation online, particularly because lead actor Ram Charan had recently dismissed rumors of a delay. During a promotional event earlier this month, the actor assured fans that the “talkie” portions of the film were complete and urged them to ignore reports of a pushback. However, the production team released a formal statement on Wednesday confirming that the film is now slated for a June 2026 release window.
According to the official press note, the primary reason for the delay is the need for extensive post-production work. While the filming is nearly finished – with only one song remaining to be shot – the makers emphasized their commitment to providing a “best-in-class” theatrical experience. “We feel it’s important to give our technicians and post-production team a little more time to bring out their best with absolute perfection,” the team stated, noting that they are extremely satisfied with the current edit but want to refine the final output.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sanaknown for the National Award-winning Uppena, Peddi features a stellar cast including Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jagapathi Babu. The film’s music is composed by Academy Award winner AR Rahman, whose recent “glimpses” and songs have already garnered massive traction on social media.
While a specific date in June has yet to be locked, the production houses – Vriddhi Cinemas, Mythri Movie Makers, and Sukumar Writings – have promised to announce the final schedule shortly. For now, fans will have to wait a few more weeks to witness Ram Charan’s transition into his new high-octane sporting avatar.
