Nifty 50 top losers today, April 16: HDFC Bank, ONGC, HDFC Life, Titan Company and more

The benchmark indices ended slightly lower on April 16, reflecting mild weakness in select heavyweight stocks. The NIFTY 50 closed at 24,196.75, down 34.55 points or 0.14%, while the SENSEX slipped 122.56 points or 0.16% to settle at 77,988.68.

Among the Nifty 50 constituents, financials and select large-cap names featured prominently on the list of top losers.

HDFC Bank emerged as the biggest laggard of the session, closing at ₹794.0, down 2.0%. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation followed, ending at ₹282.9, lower by 1.7%.

HDFC Life Insurance declined 1.6% to close at ₹630.5. Titan Company also saw selling pressure, falling 1.3% to ₹4,462.0.

Mahindra & Mahindra ended at ₹3,220.0, down 1.1%, while Bharti Airtel slipped 1.1% to ₹1,835.5.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise closed at ₹7,562.5, registering a 1.0% decline. Kotak Mahindra Bank fell 0.9% to ₹378.9.

Hindustan Unilever ended lower by 0.9% at ₹2,139.1, and Grasim Industries closed at ₹2,720.0, down 0.8%.
