Shreyas Iyer-Prabh Simran Singh created panic in Wankhede, Punjab Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets in IPL 2026

IPL 2026: Punjab Kings, captained by Shreyas Iyer, have registered their fourth consecutive win in the Indian Premier League 2026. Punjab Kings have reached the top of the points table by defeating Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets in the 24th match of IPL 2026 played at Wankhede Stadium. Punjab Kings easily achieved the target of 196 runs given by Mumbai Indians by losing 3 wickets with 21 balls remaining. Prabhsimran Singh played an unbeaten inning of 80 runs for Punjab. While captain Shreyas Iyer scored 66 runs. Mumbai Indians have suffered their fourth consecutive defeat this season.

Punjab Kings had a bright start

Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh started the innings of Punjab Kings to chase the target of 196 runs given by Mumbai Indians. Punjab Kings had lost 2 wickets at the score of 45 runs, but the team got a fast start. Priyansh Arya was out after scoring 15 runs on 9 balls. While Cooper Connolly was out after scoring 17 runs on 12 balls. Mumbai Indians spinner Allah Ghazanfar took both the wickets.

Prabhsimran Singh played an unbeaten match winning inning of 80 runs for Punjab Kings.

After losing 2 wickets for 45 runs, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh created a stir in the Wankhede Stadium and made a century partnership to lead the team to victory. Prabhsimran Singh played an unbeaten inning of 80 runs in 39 balls. During this, he hit 11 fours and 2 sixes with his bat. He made a strike rate of around 206.

Shreyas Iyer played an explosive inning of 66 runs.

Whereas captain Shreyas Iyer played a stormy inning of 66 runs in 35 balls. Shreyas Iyer, batting at a strike rate of around 188, hit 5 fours and 4 sixes in his innings. Whereas Marcus Stoinis contributed 10 unbeaten runs on 5 balls.

Mumbai Indians had scored 196 runs on the basis of Quinton de Kock’s century.

In this match, Mumbai Indians lost the toss and batted first and scored 195 runs for 6 wickets. Quinton de Kock played an explosive inning of 112 runs in 60 balls for Mumbai Indians. During this he hit 8 fours and 7 sixes. Whereas Namandhir scored 50 runs in 31 balls, which included 3 fours and 3 sixes. While captain Hardik Pandya scored 14 runs. Apart from this, no batsman for Mumbai Indians could even touch double figures. Arshdeep Singh took 3 wickets for Punjab Kings. Whereas Shashank Singh and Marco Yansen got 1-1 success.
